Dwayne Wade's House, Estate of the Day

The home of Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade is one that I am just itching to hear your thoughts on.The massive home in the Pinecrest, Florida area puts to shame other NBA homes I have seen such as those owned by Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Like Shaq, Wade personalized his pool and like Malone, Wade went a wee bit crazy with the murals.
From the outside the nearly 12,000-square-foot French-style home seems rather sedate but once inside the six-bedroom home things get a bit Flashtastic. Wade, known as "Flash," has put a "W" inlaid in the marble floor in the entrance hall and the listing includes the furnishings, artwork and some of Mr. Wade's memorabilia. There are rooms in the home, such as the dining room that are rather elegantly decorated, there are also touches like the Spider-man-themed bathrooms and the many, many renderings of Mr. Wade, that make this a home in need of some work. The home is so idiosyncratic that you would really have to be a fan to live here and I wonder if he will have as tough a time selling as Malone did. There is also a one-bedroom guest house, pool and patio with a summer kitchen on the property. The home is listed at $8.9 million. After the jump, a monument to ego.
UPDATE: Wade has struggled to sell the home, reducing the price several times. It is now listed at $4.599 million.

This house is has no class inside. Outside is okay,
i agree with the other comments no class a total waste. I would never sign a loan for that house, i probably still be unhapppy if I spent a million on this rubbish...step your game up..playa. The pool or is a tub a water area..whta kind of pool is that. By the way to personalize your name and theme on a house is played out..who cares about your name everywhere..grow up..

This is a beautiful property, but it does not look very lived-in. Not exactly a warm and cozy home ... what it mostly needs is a woman's loving touch.

What a God Damn waste, people sleeping on U.S.1 & Broward Blvd. while self induldgant weiners are sippin' on $8.00 cup of coffees @ Starbucks, were all self distructing and selfish and forget where we all come from, No matter what gaited community you live in, you all got to drive thru the hood to go to work,or wherever our travels take us!!!

VIEWED THE HOME, AND IT IS A BIG HOME. NOT IMPRESSED THOUGH, IT LACKS PERSONALITY. THE COLORS ARE DRAB, THE HOUSE DOESN'T APPEAR LIVED IN. ALL IN ALL, IT'S A GREAT HOUSE, AND DEFINITLY NOT SOMETHING I COULD AFFORD, BUT SOMEONE WILL BUY IT. ADD SOME COLOR, GET RID OF THE PERSONAL TOUCHES AND IT WILL SELL, GOOD LUCK.
JOYE Apr 13th 2007 10:47PM
WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE HATERS? THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOUR VISION IS SO LIMITED YOU COULD NEVER IMAGINE YOURSELF IN A HOME OF THAT CAPACITY.

man for all that money i just hope you can get that stinkin ass nigger smell out of there. i kind of doubt it nothin gets rid of nigger smell. other than that the house is owesome.

i too agree, the enhancements needed to this home are quite minor; overall the home has been tastefully decorated minus the overt personalizations...
beautiful home and no one reading this blog lives in anything half as nice, spider bathroom and all...

It is a beautiful house except for that door.

I so agree with you Mamaneen!! For those with those nasty comments are just bitter that they will never afford something like that!! If I were able to afford it I would personlize for ME and MY TASTE (get it???)You all must be bitter Mavs Fans LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!
HoneeGirl Apr 13th 2007 11:47PM
By....You are an ignorant asshole that will never ever be able to ever afford something like that!!!Come out of the hood(and I do mean that) and step into the 21stCentury you moron!!!
ROSS Apr 14th 2007 12:02AM
THE HOUSE ITSELF IS O.K. BUT THE DECORATION [IF YOU CAN CALL IT THAT] IS HORRID... WITHOUT RHYME OR REASON. IT GIVES THE IMPRESSION THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THAT SPACE. I SUPPOSE ANYONE WHO CAN AFFORD THE PRICE, THOUGH, CAN MAKE THE INSIDE ATTRACTIVE AND LIVABLE FOR A RELATIVELY REASONABLE AMOUNT.

Crazy people..u think (duh) he put cameras in the childs' room because he wants to make sure the child is safe? Since he has a little money to spend on video equipment instead of the 99 cent baby monitor..it makes perfect sense. Another thing..if I had 8.9 million dollars..i'd buy this house in a heartbeat. Quiet and roomy..cant go wrong with that. And i'm suuuure I could find someone to change the spiderman childrens bathroom or have kids and let him have his spidey fun till 6 years old . What is wrong with u people..this house is Robin Leech Fabulous.
Terry Apr 14th 2007 12:16AM
I'm not a basketball fan, but I know who this kid is. What is he, 25 years old, you gotta cut him some slack on the decorating-self worshiping theme. He's still young enough to think that a play station in every room, actually HELPS the room. If you or I had just signed our 100 million dollar deal we would build a giant blinged out monstrosity also. Let it set there for a while, offer him 25% less than he is asking, do a little de-blinging and sell the hell out of it.....make some serious $$$$$
lana Apr 17th 2007 3:28PM
the house is awesome, but it is is customized to his tastes so why would he sell it?
Scott Apr 14th 2007 12:42AM
I like the outside, but I would not evn consider taking a dump on the inside
KEEPITREAL Apr 14th 2007 12:49AM
I agree with mamaneen I think that this is soley about realestate, andthe cameras in the child's area is soley for monitoring safety, and the child's security. People can be so bass akwards sometimes! Every black male who's affluent, influential, rich athelete, or entertainer, etc. IS NOT "R" Kelly or Michael Jackson. People wake up! This if anything is just a case perhaps of egotistical interior design if anything at all. Hey if he's got the money? He can spend it like he wants. None of us bloggers here could afford to buy it anyway! LOL
Scott Apr 14th 2007 12:42AM
The outside is nice! The inside is ummmm; kind of ugly
SANDY Apr 14th 2007 12:44AM
THE HOUSE IS GORGEOUS! THE ELEVATOR PAINT MATCHES THE RAILINGS WHICH ALSO MATCHES THE CUSTOMIZED MARBLE ON THE FLOOR.
IT'S HIS HOUSE, HIS TASTE! YOU DON'T LIKE IT TOO BAD!
